Ali-Sadr cave is located 75 kilometers northwest of Hamadan, in Kabudrahang city and near Ali-Sadr Village. The height of Ali-Sadr cave from the sea level is 2180 meters, but since not all parts of this cave have yet been discovered, no one knows the exact length and depth of the cave. The height of the cave's ceiling in some parts is approximately 10 meters. Until now, excavations are so far discovered that some underground cavities are up to 40 meters long, and the depth of lake ranges from half and 14 meters in different parts. This cave consists of many corridors, a maze of halls, and a large lake in the middle that covered a large area of this cave. So, this issue makes Ali-Sadr cave the world's longest water-canoeing cave in the world. Some researchers also said that this cave is linked to the Kataleh Khor Cave in Zanjan.

So, we are ready to start a journey to the heart of this mysterious cave. 

The attractive and unique feature of Ali-Sadr cave from the other water caves in the world is the convenience of passing through the water channels inside it. These canals are in a way that can easily be crossed by ordinary boats. During your boat journey through the cave, try to watch the surroundings with high precision when riding a boat, and get to know the air of mysteries surround this cave. Each corner of this cave is also painted with colorful and attractive lighting so that tourists can easily recognize different shapes and gain a better experience of exploring in Ali-Sadr cave. When the boat journey is finished, the exploration into the cave continues on foot. You will be amazed by the shape of some stalagmites that formed like pearls and dragons. After crossing the walking path, the boat journey goes back to you. As you go forward, the ceiling of the cave becomes shorter and shorter the route gets narrow. In the end, the riders take you to the sides.

The most attractive part of the Ali-Sad cave is the vast lake. It prepares the possibility of boating and exploring the inner parts of the cave. The water of this lake is colorless and odorless. The source of this lake's water is the underground springs and the drops of water that flow from the walls and the ceiling of the cave. The water of this lake is inedible due to the presence of calcareous salts. There are no aquatic creatures live there as well. The water is clear and transparent, as the depth of 10 meters easily seen without armed eye. The stalactites and stalagmites in that have been formed by millions of years and draw the attention of every visitor.

    The best time to visit Ali-Sadr cave and Hamadan city is spring and summer, but there is a possibility to visit the cave in all seasons. Of course, it must be noted that during Nowruz (Iranian New Year) Ali-Sadr cave is very crowded and full of visitors.

  • Getting there:
     

You can use two paths to get there:

  1. Take Hamadan's road to Lalejin and then Bijar and head to Ali-Sadr cave.
  2. Move from Hamadan to the city of Kabudrahang. Turn your way towards Nogheh (Hamedan Route to Razan) and take the path to the cave.
