Maqbaratoshoara

Maqbaratoshoara is the tomb of more than 400 Persian literates and poets in Tabriz, East Azerbaijan Province.

Maqbaratoshoara includes the grave of more than 400 Persian literates and poets. It is considered as the cultural symbol of Tabriz city. Maqbaratoshoara was named as the Sorkhab’s Cemetery.

  The famous poets or literates of Maqbaratoshoara are as follow:
   
  • Shahriar: Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Behjat Tabrizi was known as Shahriar is one of the famous poets that has buried in the Maqbaratoshoara. The death anniversary Shahriar is the National Persian Poetry and Literature’s Day.
     
  • Asadi Tusi: Ali ibn Ahmad Asadi Tusi was a Persian poet who had written some books such as Garshaspname. He was the first poet that has buried in the Maqbaratoshoara.
     
  • Qatran Tabrizi: Abū-Mansūr Qatrān-i Tabrīzī was a Persian poet. He was the first poet who was speaking Persian in Azerbaijan. The significance of his works is mentioning the major historical events of Tabriz.
     
  • Khaqani: He was a Persian poet of the sixth century. Also, Khaqani and Shahriar were the most famous poets that have buried in the Maqbaratoshoara.
     
  • Zahir-al-Din Faryabi: He is the third famous poet that has buried in the Maqbaratoshoara. He was from Balkh.
