Shahrestanak is a historical village. Around 1850 A.D Nasereddin Shah Qajar uses the palace inside Shahrestanak for Hunting and rest in the hot days of summer. This palace is now known as Shahrestanak palace.

Shahrestanak is a village in Asara district, Karaj county in Alborz province. The village is located 55 km northeast of Karaj, and 90 km of Tehran. The village of 2,190 meters above sea level and the climate is cold in winter and pleasant in summer. Shahrestanak is a historical village. Now the palace is destroyed. Kamal Ol Molk the most popular and famous painter of Iran draw a picture of this palace and you can imagine the greatness of this palace you are going there.

• What is the best time to go?

The village has untouched nature with a good climate. A very tortuous mountain road to this village is amazing. Although the Shahrestanak scenic village, is a summer village, autumn is the most famous and beautiful summer. The fruit trees can be seen in different colors in autumn. Shahrestanak village is one of the tourist attractions in Iran.

• Getting there:
• From Tehran, you have to take a Taxi to Shahrestanak and it cost around 2,500,000 to 3,000,000 Rials for one day of your trip. But maybe It's cheaper to get on the public buses that go to Chalos city (the ticket price is around 300,000 Rials). You have to ask the driver to stop on the Shahrestanak route on Chalos highway. After getting off the bus you have to ask the local cars to take you to the Shahrestanak but there is no taxi station there and it depended on your chance to find someone.
