Walk high above Tehran, Like on it's roof

Bame Tehran is one of the main promenades in the capital of Iran that is located in the north of Tehran at a height of 1,900 meters above sea level. 

Bame Tehran (means: Roof of Tehran) is a great place in the Alborz mountains to enjoy the fresh air away from the city center. Many locals like to go there too, to take a break from busy everyday life. Start with an enjoyable walk and watch the city in the silence of the night. Besides the healthy environment, there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and fast food places to satisfy your stomach with Iranian and international dishes. Some famous ones that we suggest are: Bame Tehran restaurant with wooden seats, Chopin restaurant that offers you main dishes and special salads, Florence restaurant has Italian and Iranian foods and Rosha restaurant. Try barbecued fish and chicken!

Also, you can find booths where you can buy training suits, sports apparel, hiking gear and equipment, and even flower pots and plants. Bame Tehran is a great place to spend time doing different exercises, for all people either athletes or not.

• Walking and climbing
  • You like walking and climbing? If yes you will need a whole day. Start climbing early in the morning. The place is full of climbers and walkers. And the pass is Very well marked out up. With a 15 minute walk you can go from Bame Tehran parking to the first station of Tochal Tele cabin (about 2 km). Walk along the road path and enjoy the wonderful view of mountains and Tehran. We suggest you to visit Bame Tehran in the early morning or late afternoon. There are also some electric buses taking people up, for free, but it’s a little crowded in the afternoon. If you like climbing, it’s a good idea to climb up to station 2 or 3 and come down by Tochal Telecabin. You can see many climbers on the way.

   

• Touchal gondola
  • An important attraction of Bame Tehran is a gondola that includes 7 stations to reach the top. There are also electric buses from Bame Tehran to transfer people to the first station. Hikers who go to the top can use the gondola to come down. In winter, skiers use it to reach Tochal ski resorts. Everybody can buy tickets and get on the gondolas. Here are the types of tickets:

1. Line one, 100,000 Rials for: Staition 1 to station 2.
2. Line two, 150,000 Rials for: Station 1 to station 5.
3. Line three, 150,000 Rials for: Round way, station 1 to station 2.
4. Line four, 250,000 Rials for: Round way, station 1 to station 5.
5. Line five, 350,000 Rials for: Round way station 1 to station 7. 

Remember, Telecabin is open the whole week apart from Mondays.

• Tochal Telesiege
  • You can add a little excitement to your trip and try Tochal Telesiege. Firstly, it is safe don’t worry! Tochal Telesiege can take you up for one station, about 100 meters. Tochal Telesiege is about 1km long and you will be up in the air for about 10 minutes and you can see the beautiful view of Tehran. Cheshmeh Telesiege starts from the first station of Tochal Telecabin and ends in Cheshmeh restaurant. If you want to try Tochal Telesiege or Telecabin, make sure about the working hours. Keep in mind that the schedules may change due to weather conditions and the capacity of the route. It’s a good idea to ask your hotel to make sure that the cable cars are running. Note: Please note that Tochal telesiege is open only on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 to 20:00.

• Tochal Zipline Club
  • Experience the peak of excitement with Tochal Zipline! Tochal Zipline club is open every day from 10 AM to 10 PM and the ticket price is 350.000 IRR per person. Zipline is in Park No. 2 located on Salamati (Health) road of Tochal Complex.

• Bungee jumping
  • 40 meter jumping over Tehran City can give you a wonderful adrenaline kick. It is possible to take immediate training for all ages. Beware that only men and people over 15 years can jump. You can jump from 17:00 to 23:00 year-round. The price is 550,000 Rials.

• Tochal Alpine coaster
  • Tochal alpine coaster or Tochal mountain coaster is the second-longest alpine coaster in Iran. The ticket price is 200,000 IRR per person. Tochal mountain coaster is 1400 meters long and will provide you with an exciting experience! Below you'll find information about Tochal mountain coaster working hours:

1. Saturday to Wednesday: From 9:00 to 17:00
2. Thursday and Friday: From 8:30 to 20:00

• Skiing in 3900 meters high!
  • Make your trip more adventurous and ski in the nearest ski resort to Tehran. You can ski in Tochal Ski Resort from November to April. Touch gondola line 5, starts from station 1 and ends in station 7, can take you 3900 meters high! There are ski resorts in station 7 and station 5. Tochal Ski Resort has 3 Ttelesiege routes and 1 Tele ski taking ski players top of the mountain. There is ski equipment available at the rental center in station 7. The prices are fairly cheap. There are also ski trainers helping you. Tochal Mountain with 3,933 meters high is the highest peak in Tehran and Tochal ski resorts are located in stations 7 and 5, together the ski routes make a total length of 6000 meters! These slopes are covered with snow for more than 8 months during the year. If you like you can stay overnight in the luxurious Tochal hotel. Tochal hotel has more than 30 rooms and a great restaurant.

   

• What is the best time to go?
  • It's better to choose the nighttime as you can enjoy the view of Tehran. Usually, Thursday and Fridays tend to be very busy, so HiPersia advises to go during the other days. The view of Tehran at the night is just breathtaking!

   

• Getting there:
  • The best option is to take a taxi: ask the driver to take you to Bame Tehran-Velenjak. The approximate price from the city center up to there is about 200,000 Rials. Also, there is  public parking there, the cost is about 40,000 -50,000 Rials for about 2 hours.
