Siah Kuh National Park is one of the untouched National parks, located between Yazd and Isfahan province.

Siah Kuh National Park with its rare animal species considered as one of the untouched protected areas in Iran. You will see mountainous zones and sandy plains, which are a proper habitat of different faunas like a Wild goat.

  • Geographical location:

This national park covers an area of 80786 hectares, the southern part placed in Yazd province, and the northern part in Isfahan province. It is one of the unknown protected areas in the world, because of stays away from residential zones and protects from the danger of illegal hunters. The area consists of mountainous zones and sandy plains. The average annual temperature is 19 ° C, and the annual precipitation is 65 millimeters. The highest point of this protected area with an altitude of 2050 meters is a proper habitat of Ovis Orientalis and Wild goat. Due to the geographical location of the Siah Kuh National Park and its climate, there is no river to supply the water needed for plants and animals. Of course, there are some water springs in this area that provide the water needed for the plants and animals. In addition to the springs, reefs are another source of water supplies for animals in the Siah Kuh National Park.

Due to the temperate subtropical climate of this protected area, you can visit the plants and animal species from early late March until late May.

 

  • Getting there?

Siah Kuh National Park is only accessible through Siah Kuh Protected Area. There are two main entrances from the northeast and southeast of the Siahkouh Protected Area; both of them are separated by the Ardakan-Chopan Road, which are the main access routes to the area.
