Damghan Zangule Dome

Zangule Dome is located in Damghan, Semnan province dating back to the 7th century AH.

Damghan is the seventh historical city of Iran which contains a monument with an unknown history. Some historians considered this building dating back to the Ilkhanate era.
 

Different reasons have been expressed about the construction of this building. There are some things similar to the grave in this building. Local people believe the grave belongs to a commander of Ya'qub ibn al-Layth al-Saffar. Some people believe this place is the tomb of Manuchehri Damghani, the famous Iranian poet.

You can see mudbrick dome in Cheshmeh-Ali, Damghan, Semnan province. The architectural style and the statics of this dome are very interesting for architects and archaeologists. This building had a rectangular plan with a dome above it, but the dome was destroyed. The height of this dome is about six meters. On the four walls of this monument, there are four arches with four doors to exit. The hight of the walls is about six meters.

Semnan province is known as the land of desert, mountain, and forest. The geographic location and variable nature of this region have created varied weather. If you want to visit this historical city, the best time will be late March until late June.

• Getting there:
   

The Zanguleh dome is located southwest of Damghan. Also, it is situated in Shahid Moulaei Park. You can reach the Zanguleh dome from Shohada Square to Shahid Mofatteh Boulevard.
