Constitution House of Tabriz

Constitution House of Tabriz is an old monument in Tabriz which known as Khaneh Mashrouteh.

Constitution House of Tabriz is one of the historical houses of Tabriz which dated back to the Qajar dynasty. It was the private house of Mehdi Koozeh Kanani with the architectural features of the Qajar dynasty. This house had changed to the museum of the constitution in 1996. The museum of Constitution has been established, due to the making changes in the halls of this house and discovering documents of the Persian Constitutional Revolution.
 

• History of Constitution House of Tabriz
   

The heads of Azerbaijan had gathered at the house of Mehdi Koozeh Kanani to contemplate about the political issues of society. With the advent of constitutionalism, Mehdi Koozeh Kanani joined to the constitutionalists and dedicated his private house to this political process. Meeting of Constitutionalist heads, print and distribute the anti-government declarations had been taken place in this house. Some of these constitutionalists were as follows: Sattar Khan, Baqir Khan, Seqat-ol-Eslam Tabrizi, Haki Mirza Aqafarshi, and Mehdi Koozeh Kanani.

• Architecture
   

Constitution House of Tabriz was built in two stories with an area of 1300 square meters in the Qajar dynasty. The unique features of Constitution House of Tabriz are as follows: spectacular ornamentation, Orsie windows, Wood carved doors, Gholam Ghardesh, and lightwell. Orsie is one of the Islamic Architectural effects, a lattice window like Sash window which used in red, green, and white color in Constitution House of Tabriz. Moreover, Gholam Ghardesh is a circular corridor or a pedestal around the dome, or courtyard.
 

• Objects of Constitution House of Tabriz
   

Statues of Ali-Akbar Dehkhoda, Zeynab Pasha, Hosein Khan Baghban, Haj Ali Davachi, Seqat-ol-Eslam Tabrizi, Howard Baskerville, Ali Musyo, and Akhund Khorasani have been exhibited in Constitution House of Tabriz. Also, the pistol of Sattar Khan, Constitution carpet, copy machine, the image of historical documents about the Constitution, and different stamps which belong to different revolutionary groups are the historical objects of this museum.

Early May till early September is the best time to visit Constitution House of Tabriz because during cold season Tabriz is too cold.

• Getting there?
   

Constitution House of Tabriz is located on the Rasta Kucha Street, west of Grand Bazaar of Tabriz, East Azerbaijan Province. It is also placed in front of the Jameh Mosque of Tabriz. You can ride a bus, east-Mohagheghi to Imamieh line and get off on the Rasta Kucha Street. It is a two-minute walk from the Station to the Constitution House of Tabriz.
