Historical Tang-e Chogan (Polo) is located 23 km from Kazerun city and in front of the ancient city of Bishapur. It has carvings of the Sasanian age.
Tang-e Chogan is located near the city of Bishapur in Kazerun (Fars). Shapur River flows northeast to southwest across the strait. In the vicinity of the Strait, there are the reliefs of Sasanian kings, such as those reliefs of Naqsh-e Rustam and Behistun. The Tang-e Chogan has been the traditional place for the Sassanid king of polo. This strait has six reliefs, related to Shapur I and Bahram I and II.
Also, a big statue of Shapur I with 6 meters high, is located in Shapur Cave, at an altitude of about 800 meters from the river. This strait has bigger and busier reliefs than other Sasanian times. Three of these reliefs are more than 30 square meters in size, and the role of the figure is engraved more than 30 people in each one. Almost all of the six reliefs proximity to the entrance of the Tang-e Chogan that located at less distance than 500 meters from the city of Bishapur in the strait.
The first relief is bigger and busier than other relief figures. The pattern of this relief is celebrating Shapur I's victory over the Roman Empire. In the first relief, craved Shapur I in the middle of the role and horseback riding. The fifth relief on the right of the strait is about Shapur's victory over the Roman state. In the sixth and final relief is the ceremony of receiving the royal ring by Shapur I of Ahura Mazda, as well as his victory over the Romans in the war.

The best way to get to the Tang-e Chogan is the Shiraz - Qaemyeh Hwy. From Kazerun to the Tang-e Chogan is about 30 minutes by car.
