Meybod Chapar Khaneh was a cross-roads resort, dated back to the Qajar era which was built like a castle.
Meybod Chapar Khaneh is located in Meybod, Yazd province. The equivalent of Chapar in English is the postman. Chapar Khaneh was a cross-roads resort for the governmental postmen. Meybod Chapar Khaneh is situated on the ancient route of Rey-Kerman next to the Meybod's Shah Abbasi Caravanserai. Due to protecting government documents, letters, and critical messages, this place built same as a castle. Meybod Chapar Khaneh consists of some chambers which belonged to the boss, postmen, and guards. Also, there were some places to keeping horses.

Chapar Khaneh was very important for the government agencies during the reign of the Parthian and Sasanian Empire, and after Islam. Also, Chapar Khaneh transmitted various news from different parts of the city to the center. During the Qajar period, passengers preferred to stay in Chapar Khaneh, since the rooms were cleaner than the caravanserai.
A lot of adobe structures as Chapar Khaneh were built in Iran which had ruined. Meybod Chapar Khaneh is still standing that has some tower and fortification to protect the people of there. Meybod Chapar Khaneh, like the other houses of the central part of the Iranian plateau, consists of a central courtyard that is surrounded with some mangers. Behind the chambers, there were some stables where horses were kept. The ornamentation of this place includes the brick façade on the entrance gate and some Merlon above the fence of Chapar Khaneh.
According to the climate of Yazd province, the best time to visit the Meybod Chapar Khaneh is from early March until early April, when the weather is quite mild.
There is no airport in Meybod. If you plan to travel by airplane, you must go to Yazd then get there. The distance from Yazd to Meybod is 56 kilometers and takes about an hour by car.
