Several skeletons were discovered in the salt mine located in the Chehrabad area of Zanjan province. In the winter of 1993, they found a corpse while mining. The corpse was a half body that had long hair and a beard, and he had a ring of gold in the left ear. Unfortunately, the mining operation continued for 11 years until 2004. During the work with the bulldozer, the miners discovered the remnants of another man's skeleton again. But this time, this skeleton was significantly damaged and disrupted due to the neglect and the impact of the bulldozer's collision. The miners were looking for other things they found another skeleton.
These skeletons were transferred to the cultural and tourism heritage of Zanjan province. In 2007, the order to stop mining operations was issued. Also, the sixth salt man was found. Because there aren't proper facilities for keeping the sixth man, he stays in the mine. According to archaeologists and historians, three salt men belong to the Achaemenid era. The researchers also considered two other salt men who belonged to the late Sassanid period.

Except for the bodies of salt men, the ancient artifacts have been placed in this museum. Some of these items come back to the Iron Age.
