Sahand Ski Resort

The Sahand Ski Resort, where located in East Azerbaijan province, is the largest ski resort in the northwest of the country.

About 40 kilometers in the south east of Tabriz, The Sahand Ski Resort stands on the north side of Sahand mountain. Due to the leisure facilities and availability, hosts a considerable amount of ski enthusiasts every year during ski season. This complex has been recognized as an international ski resort by International Ski Federation. The Sahand Ski Resort is the ultimate ski resort in the north west of the country and it’s hard to find other resorts that could be better in this region. This resort is ideal for those who desire to take up skiing and do winter sports, mountaineering and enjoy nature. This family-friendly ski resort is situated at an altitude of 2915m to 3295m above sea level with a vertical drop of 380m and snow depth of 4 meters. The total length of the ski slope is 3 kilometers.

•  The resort facilities:

The Sahand Ski Resort offers a range of facilities as follows:

• 1 ski school
• 1 parking lot
• 1 buffet
• 1 rental shop
• 1 clinic
• also the ski slope have been equipped with 1 ski beater
• 4 ski lifts included: 2 T-bar lift with the length of 1,200m and 2 Rope tow with the length of 100m for beginners in order to transport skiers and snowboarders.

• Entrance Fee:

The entrance fee of the Sahand Ski Resort is 400,000 IRR and open on Thursday and Friday. The duration of using the ski resort for one day is from morning to afternoon (from 9AM to 3PM).

•  Is there any rental shop to rent the ski gear?

The ski gear rental shop is available at the ski resort. So all the ski equipment can be hired in the resort. The ski gear rental is variable, but the average amount is around 1,000,000 IRR.

•  Ski instructor:

The ski instructors are available at the ski school to teach you how to ski. The rate of the ski instructor is variable and it costs you about 350,000 IRR, 420,000 IRR and 480,000 IRR per hour for the 3rd, 2nd and 1st degree instructor.

•  Accommodations 

A 5-star hotel and a 3-star hotel are currently under construction in the resort. You can stay in one of the villas of Shanli recreation center, where located about 5km to the Sahand Ski Resort.

•  What is the best time to go?

The ski season at the Sahand Ski Resort, runs from December until April. The ski resort opens to the public just in Thursday and Friday.

•   Getting there?

The Sahand Ski Resort is located about 40 kilometers in the southeast of Tabriz. It takes about one hour from Tabriz and you must get the Sahand Ski Resort Road.
