White height and fantastic green nature in the west of Iran's Plateau, has created Mount Dena as a shiny diamond in the Zagros mountain range.

Mount Dena (4448 m), is the highest mountain in the Zagros Mountain Range. The Mount Dena in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, has created a highland region with fantastic nature on the northern part of this area. In fact mount Dena is the name of a sub-range within the Zagros mountan range, including several high peaks; The highest peak of the Mount Dena is Bijan3 (Ghash Mastan 4409 m). Mount Dena has three caves, Dengzlo, Nool and ice cave. It also has several springs, the most popular of them are Spid, Sherink, and Mishi. You will see a different kind of animals in Mount Dena such as Big brown bears, Quebec, Eagle, Vulture, Homa, Leopard, Wolf, Wild Cats, Sable, Weasel, Iranian Squirrel, Quebec.

Sisakht

Sisakht is a beautiful town and a good camp for climbing that is located on the southern foothill of Dena Mountain. Also, this area with extensive marvelous gardens, moderate and mountainous climate in summer, has created an eye-catching prospect for nature buffs. Maybe some Mysterious point about this area has made an attraction for people. The name of the Sisakht is referring to old legends and linked the past of this region to the Kianian period.

  • What is the best time to go?

 

Summer is the best season to climb, due to the winter climbing in this area is very difficult and dangerous.

 

  • Getting there:

    Mount Dena has extended from northwest to southeast, divided into three main ranges and a vertical sub-range by three crests, Bijan, West Moorgol and Putak.


     
    • Dena central range (Moorgol peak)

      This range starts from Bijan ghaut till west Moorgol ghaut, including 18 peaks with more than 4000m height. You can reach there from Sisakht.

       
    • Dena Northwest rang

      This range stars from west Moorgol ghaut till Kal-Ghadvis, climbing to this area in winter is so dangerous because it is out of access.

       
    • Dena Southeast range

      This range stars from Bijan ghaut till Pazan-Pir peak, including 9 peaks with more than 4000m heights. You can reach there from mount Chal-Kalagh in the Yasuj-Kakan road.

       
    • Ghash Mastan

      This route starts from Khafr village till Kooh-Dezh, you will reach a metal shelter, after passing Ghash-Mastan neck, Ghash-Mastan peak is visible.

 

Due to invisible shelter, it is better to get there with a local leader.
