Birjand Airport is one of the oldest international airports in Iran that is located in the north part of Brjand.
Birjand is the capital of the South Khorasan province. Birjand Airport is a small international airport which is located in the north part of Birjand. It was established in 1933. Due to the strategic and poletical location of Birjand Airport, it was built as the main airport of Birjand and the third airport in Iran. At the beginning, this airport dosen’t have any terminal. The first passenger terminal was opened in 1976. Birjand Airport became an international airport after the first international flight to Medina, in June 2008.

Birjand Airport only has one passenger terminal for domestic and international flights. This terminal includes some airport shop, restaurant, and cafeteria. Moreover, Birjand Airport has since opened the second passenger terminal in order to increase the number of air transportation.
Birjand International Airport is located at the airport boulevard in northern Birjand city. You can use the airport taxi services to reach the city center.
