Tomb Of Hamdollah Mostofi

Hamdollah Mostofi tomb is located in Qazvin, is a monument from the Ilkhanate era. Hamdollah Mostofi is a Persian historian, geographer and epic poet.

 

Hamdollah Mostofi Qazvini was born in the 680 lunar years. He is the famous historian, poet, author and geographer in Qazvin province. He lived in the time of the Ilkhanate. Hamdollah Mostofi died in the year 750 AH.

This tomb is built in Azari style. One of the unique features of this building is its turquoise-colored cone-shaped dome and inscription wrote with Thuluth that introduces the fathers and the works of Mostofi. The tomb now has an area of more than 380 square meters that includes a courtyard of 350 meters. There are simple and pretty turquoise tiles inside the tomb. The exterior of this tomb is made of brick.

  • What is the best time to go?
    Due to Qazvin is located on the slopes of Alborz, the winters are relatively cold and snowy. Qazvin has a mild and relatively cool climate in summer. But the best season to travel to this region is in the spring and May and June months when the plains and hills of this province are so green that make eye-catching scenery.
     

 

 

  • Getting there?
    You can turn from Shohada Street to Mohammadiyeh Alley. Then continue this alley to reach Hamdollah Mostofi alley. The tomb is located on the same alley. It is about two and a half hours from Tehran to Qazvin. You can reach Qazvin city from Karaj-Qazvin road. You can go to Qazvin either by private car or by public bus or taxi. One of the terminals that you can take on taxis or buses is the West Terminal that is located in Azadi Square.
