Siah Gav Lake is located in one of the villages in Ilam city named Abdanan. There are plains and high mountains around the Siah Gav lake. The lake has become an attractive tourist attraction with having the bird music and the symphony of the wind breeze.

The Siah Gav River, passing through the valleys between Kabir Kuh, southwest of Abdanan, moves toward the twin lake. The two lakes are connected by a natural channel. The width of this natural channel is eight meters and, its depth is four meters, and also its length is 70 meters. The swollen river that comes out of the second lake runs into the surrounding agricultural land of the Abdanan village. The water of the Siah Gav Lake is the vital source of many villages, and life in the countryside depends on the existence of the water in this river.

Also, in this lake, plants such as Milkvetch, Prunus lycioides, Raspberry, Fig and Willow have grown.

The spring season is the best time to travel to this lake because nature reaches its efflorescence peak in the spring and creates a unique landscape around the lake. Of course, it should be noted that all the seasons of the year are pretty in Siah Gav Lake and you can travel there.

• Getting there?

To go to the lake, you must pass eight km of Siah Gav road from the city of the Abdanan that is located in Ilam city and reach the lake by crossing the bridge and, walk 500 meters. In general, the distance from the lake to the city of Ilam is about three and a half hours, and the distance between the Siah Gav Lake and the city of the Abdanan is half an hour.
