Kandelous Village

Kandolus village is another so great weather region of Iran, located in the city of Nowshahr. This village is one of the Yaylak villages that has a history of 4,000 years old.

This village is also very historically valuable. The Kandolus village in Nowshahr is about four thousand years old. You can find ancient objects in the museum in this village.

The Kandolus village, despite its small size, has a lot of attractions. Kandolus is located in the mountains of Alborz and in the valley called Zanoos. This valley includes a variety of plant and animal species. There are also a lot of fountains in this valley that add to the beauty of this valley.

Visiting the architecture of the village and rural houses and the lives of the people of the Kandolus is another major point in visiting this village. The cob houses of this village, with their wood ceilings, add to the beauty of this village.  One of the most spectacular places in this village is its museum. The museum has two floors and keeps ancient works from the second millennium BC to the Qajar era. Of course, there is also a botanical museum in the Kandolus.

At 5 km from the village, there is a 10-meter waterfall enclosed by the forest. It takes about an hour to walk to the Kandolus Waterfall. Another spectacular place in this village is the Tomb of Imam Zadeh Fazl and Fazil, which is also considered a village pilgrimage place. This tomb is very simple and made of wood. The tomb dates back 100 years.

In all seasons, the nature of Kandolus village is so beautiful. Kandolus is a lush spring, cool summers, a seven-color autumn, and beautiful snowy days. If you like moderate weather for travel, it's better to go to Kandolus in the spring and summer.

• Getting there?

To reach the village of Kandolus, you must go 25 km from Chalus through the Chalus Road. After that, enter the Kojur two-way road. Drive on Kojur Road and go for 18 km. When reaching two ways, go to the southwest way. The 15-kilometer drive will take you to the city of Kandolus. Your route is mountainous, but it is pleasant.
