Water supply sources in addition to rain and snow are springs (wetland fountains such as small flowers, large flowers, Moradan and Nasirabad) and the Aq Bollaq river. It is interesting to know that the Gandoman pond was a hunting ground for Bahram and his surroundings in the past. This pond got its name from a historic city located on its northeastern side. This region was a yaylak area for the royal family in the past centuries. You should also know that Gandoman pond is in the list of the top 10 bird-watching sites in Iran.

Beast species that live along the pond are mostly birds. Some of these birds migrate to the wetland in winter, and others live in the pond throughout the year. The migratory birds in the wetland are ducks, cormorant, sandgrouse, plover, herons and ruddy shelduck, stork, rail, Bird of prey, etc. Indigenous birds that live in the wetland are storks, coot, circinae, some birds of prey, and so on. There are also a variety of snakes, frogs, turtles, and mammals such as boar, jackal, wolf, bat, fox, and rabbit that live in this area. Iridescent toothcarp, anchovy,and capoeta are other species of this pond. Varieties of plants include willow, Oncoba spinosa, sedges, common reed, cattail, irises, flowering rush, Potamogeton crispus, Cyperus alternifolius, duckweeds, and so on.
