Palangan Village is a stepped village that lies in a mountainous area of Zhavehrud Rural District, Kurdistan Province. Palangan Village is located at the beginning of Uraman Takht, in the heart of Tangivar valley where a river passes through it. In addition to the marvelous nature of this village, the local customs and culture of people are the other notable attraction of Palangan Village. Currently, about 194 families live in this village.
The houses that situated on both sides of the river on the hillside have created a stepped architectural style. The roof of the lower house is the yard of the upper house. Indigenous materials such as stone are used in the construction of houses.

Palangan castle is placed on the top of the mountain which dates back to the Pre-Islamic period. The river that passes through the village has created an eye-catching view.
