Kashmar is one of the cities of Khorasan Razavi province that is located in the southwest of this holy province. One of the reasons for its popularity this city is its Knotted-pile carpet.
Knotted-pile carpet or rugs weave on the rug loom. The looms of this region are mostly wooden, but in recent years there has been an increase in the use of iron loom or part of it is iron. Most Iranian carpet companies use iron loom. Kashmar carpets are usually made from wool. But sometimes they also use silk. The type of knot used in Kashmar rugs is Persian knot.
