Aynalo Jungles

Humans always look for a pristine nature that gives them peace and energy. Aynalo protected forest allow you to make an excellent experience for yourself.

The mountainous and lush Aynalo area is one of the suburbs of the Khoda Afarin county, Kaleybar city in East Azerbaijan province. This area is located at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level. This area is part of the Arasbaran forest (Qara-Dagh), which has been selected as a protected forest. The area was selected because of the vegetation and suitable forests to revive the Red deer (Caspian red deer) generation.

Red deer are a species of deer that also live in Iran. Unfortunately, the species of these deer were extinct in Iran. So, they chose the Aynalo forest to revive it. Fortunately, the deer population is growing in the area. Part of this protected area is dedicated to the public visiting of these deers, and you can see beautiful red deers nearby and spend the night in a tent in the camp. Of course, if you want to stay at the camp, you should take some food with you because there is no supermarket.

• Vegetation

This forest has a great diversity of vegetation. In this area, there are many different trees such as maple, cherry, wild pear, oak, elm, juniper, hawthorn, Sorbus torminalis and so on can be found. You can also see all kinds of herbs and wildflowers in this pristine and beautiful area.

• Animal Species

The Aynalo area has a similar ecosystem to the Arasbaran forests and has many animal species. This area is a habitat for mammals such as boar, brown bear, Jungle cat, Beech marten, rabbit, jackal, red fox, southern white-breasted hedgehog, etc. The most major animal species in this area are the red deers.

• What is the best time to go?

The Aynalo area is mountainous and forested. For this reason, the weather is cold and inappropriate in autumn and winter. The best time to travel to this area is in spring and especially in summer, however, the nights may be a bit cold.

• Getting there?

To visit this pristine and beautiful place, you must first travel to East Azerbaijan province. Aynalo protected area is 50 km distance from the city of Kaleybar and 225 km from Tabriz. The path to this jungle is a maze, and be sure to watch out for trucks on the road. After reaching the village of Aynalo, enter the side road by visiting the Aynalo Protected Area signpost and outpost. You know that the part of the path is asphalt and some part is dirt. Under normal weather conditions, all cars can easily pass this route.
