Kharko is an Island in the Persian Gulf that has been registered by the Iranian Environmental Protection Organization as a national natural monument for environmental reasons and the value of its natural phenomena. Kharko Island and Khark with a four kilometers distance from each other, considered as a wildlife refuge located in the northwest of Bushehr. The island has some structures, indicate the presence of the country's military during the Iran-Iraq war, including a wharf and warehouse, which currently are a place like a birds' nest on the island.

The surface of Kharko Island has no mountains, hills, or rough terrain. Its highest point has eight meters height in the center of the island with a low slope to around. - Kharko Island is a unique community of corals and marine animals and a place for laying Anseriformes because of its extraordinary ecological value. The vegetation of this Island includes Jujube, Mesquites, Common fig, Ficus religiosa, Banyan, Herbaceous plant, Gladiolus, Ixiolirion, and Salvia aegyptiaca.
- The most prominent animal species in this area is the Gazelle, which was moved to the Island about 150 years ago. Moreover, the Island's wildlife consists of migratory birds, dolphins, and sea turtles.
