Khor Ski Resort

The Khor Ski Resort is the second ski resort in Alborz province. This ski resort is one of the tourist attractions of the region.

The Khor Ski Resort, which has been established before 1978, is located in the vicinity of the historical village of Khor, 30 kilometers from Karaj city and in proximity of Amir Kabir Dam. The Khor ski track is located at an altitude of 2800m to 3000m above sea level with a vertical drop of 200 m, and snow depth of one to two meters. There are two ski routes in the Khor resort with a length of 1850 m and 350 m, and daily capacity of 1300 skiers. Only the snowboarders who have had an experience of using the ski lift can allow to ski in the resort. Otherwise, they will cause an injury.

The resort’s facilities include:

• 1 ski lift
• 1 restaurant and Cafe
• 1 villa
• 1 parking lot
• 1 ski school

•  Entrance Fee:

The entry fee of the Khor Ski Resort is 550,000 IRR and it is exposed only on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The duration of using the ski resort for one day is from 8:30AM until 2:30PM. A parking lot is available to use at this complex with the entrance fee of 100,000 IRR.

•  Is there any rental shop to rent the ski gear?

There is a rental shop for renting skis and ski boats at the complex that you can rent them between the rate of 300,000 IRR to 350,000 IRR. 

•  Ski instructor:

The ski instructors are available at the ski school to teach you how to ski. The rate of the ski instructor is variable and it costs you from 3,000,000 IRR to 3,500,000 IRR for one day. We recommend you to share this amount with your companions.

•  Accommodation:

There is a Three-bedroom villa with a capacity of eight persons, which is equipped with convenient facilities. If you want to stay at this lodging, you should pay about 8,000,000 IRR to 10,000,000 IRR for 1-night stay.

•  What is the best time to go?

The ski season at the Khor Ski Resort, runs from mid-January until March. The ski resort opens to the public only on Monday, Thursday and Friday.

•  Getting there?

In order to reach the Khor Ski Resort, after driving about 15 kilometers on Karaj-Chalous road, by observing the Khuzenkla signpost before the entrance of the dam, you have to take the path to the eastern side. Then, follow the direction to the resort.
