Pooladkaf Ski Resort

The Pooladkaf Ski Resort is one of the stunning attractions of the Fars province, especially in winter. This ski resort is known as the southernmost ski resort of the Northern Hemisphere.

The Pooladkaf Ski Resort is an international ski resort and one of the largest resorts in Iran, which was established in 2003, in an area of 500 hectares. This recreational center in the Zagros Mountains, is the first ski resort in the south of Iran that located in Sepidan County, 85 kilometers in north-west of Shiraz and 5 kilometers from Ardekan city in Fars province. The length of the track is 3.5 kilometers with the 35-degree slope. The Pooladkaf Ski Resort is considered as one of the coldest areas of Fars province due to the mountainous location of the complex, so it is one of the most beautiful attractions of Fars province during the winter. The Pooladkaf ski track is located at an altitude of 2810m to 3231m above sea level with a vertical drop of 421m, and snow depth of one to three meters. In order to reach the summit that located at an altitude of 3400m, there is a gondola with a length of 2100 m.

• also has 3 ski slopes which have been equipped with 2 chairlifts, 3 ski lifts with the length of 200m, 600m and 1000m and 1 gondola in order to transport skiers and snowboarders.

•  Entrance Fee:

The entrance fee of the Pooladkaf Ski Resort is 550,000 IRR from Saturday to Wednesday (except official holidays), 600,000 IRR for Thursdays and 700,000 IRR for Fridays. The duration of using the ski resort for one day is from morning to afternoon. A parking lot is available to use at this complex with the entrance fee of 150,000 IRR.

For non-skiers, the cost of using lifts is 400,000 IRR from Saturday to Wednesday, 530,000 IRR for Thursdays and 660,000 for Fridays.  

•  Is there any rental shop to rent the ski gear?

Do not worry if you don’t take in any ski gear. There is a rental shop in the complex for rent the ski gear, including skis, ski boots, ski bindings, and ski poles. The rate of ski equipment is 400,000 IRR for weekdays except Thursday and Friday. You should pay 480,000 IRR for Thursdays and 550,000 IRR for Fridays.

•  Ski instructor:

The ski instructors are available at the ski school to teach you how to ski. The rate of the ski instructor is variable and it costs you about 1,500,000 IRR to 3,500,000 IRR for one-day training, depend on the ski instructor grade.

•  Accommodations:

The Pooladkaf Hotel, is a four-star hotel which located in the recreational center of Pooladkaf. This three-level hotel has 52 accommodation units including: two-bed rooms, three-bed rooms, four-bed rooms, six-bed rooms and Mongolian Yurts. The rate of rooms is between 3,330,000 IRR to 7,190,000 IRR for 1-night stay.

•  What is the best time to go?

The ski season at the Pooladkaf Ski Resort runs from first of December to late March and sometimes this period extends to April. The ski resort opens to the public all the days of the week in the ski time.

•  Getting there?

The Pooladkaf Ski Resort is located 85 kilometers in north-west of Shiraz, 15 kilometers from Ardekan on the Ardekan-Margoon road. The distance between Shiraz to the complex is 118 kilometers and it requires approximately 1 hr and 50 minutes.
