The ski resort lies in the foothills of the Zagros mountains and it is one of the most famous ski resorts in the Zagros mountains, which was built in 1976 and located adjacent to the first tunnel of Koohrang and in the eastern part of the Zard Kuh mountain. Due to the beautiful nature of Koohrang and virgin slopes, it is become as one of the tourist attractions of the province and the main destination for ski enthusiasts who comes from Isfahan. The ski resort is also called Chelgerd Ski Resort, because of it is in the vicinity of Chelgerd city. The Koohrang ski track is located at an altitude of 2350m to 2550m above sea level with a vertical drop of 200 m and snow depth of two to four meters. So, this ski track is the best place for skiing, Snowboarding and Snow Tubing during winter. The weather forecast for most days of the winter is sunny in this region and between 20 and 30 thousand skiers come here annually and benefit greatly from the region. Whether you are one of the ski lovers or just travel here for having a fascinating journey through this mountainous region, you will find plenty of great places to go on excursions such as Koohrang Tunnel, Sheikh Ali Khan Waterfall, Koohrang Fountain, Dimeh Spring, Chama Cave and Sar Aqa Seyyed village.

You can rent all kinds of ski gear at the ski resort and the average price is between 30,000 IRR and 40,000 IRR.

•  Ski instructor:

The Koohrang Ski Resort has many professional instructors for teaching how to ski. The rate of the ski instructor is variable and it costs you from 350,000 IRR to 450,000 IRR per hour, depends on the instructor grade.

•  Accommodations:

The Koohrang Hotel is a three-star hotel where located in Chelgerd city and it is the best choice to stay in this region, due to the hotel location and easy access to the ski track and other tourist attractions. The Koohrang Hotel has 30 accommodation units with the capacity of 70 persons and has been fitted with all convenient facilities.

•  What is the best time to go?

This family-friendly ski track is available to ski from late December and late February and sometimes this period extent in March. The ski resort opens to the public all the days of the week in the ski time.

•  Getting there?

The distance between Tehran and Shahrekord is 545 kilometers and It takes about 5 hours and 30 minutes. If you want to reach Shahrekord by bus, the Tehran South Bus Terminal has services with departures every hour between 6AM to 11PM. The average bus fare for VIP bus is 360,000 IRR. You take a bus or taxi from Shahrekord bus terminal (Azadi Bus Terminal) to the Chelgerd city and it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
