Kakan (Dena) Ski Resort

The Kakan Ski Resort is one of the ski resorts of Fars province where it’s in the vicinity of the Pooladkaf ski resort.

The Kakan Ski Resort is a small resort where stands 162 km in north of Shiraz and 26 km in south of Yasuj. Whether you have a one-day stay or a long stay in the region, there are a plenty of things to do at the spectacular landscape of Kakan village on Dena mount in Zagros mountain range. It is relatively a large resort with 1500m length and 600m width. The highest point of the resort located at an altitude of 2850m from the sea level, while the lowest point located at an altitude of 2650m from the sea level and an average annual snowfall of 3.5 meters. Since it is the closest ski resort to the hottest provinces of the country, it is considered to be one of the most enjoyable winter recreational centers in the south of the country. The first ski lift was started in operation in 1994 and other facilities added to the Kakan ski resort in 2005 in order to amend.

•  Entrance Fee:

The entrance fee of the Kakan Ski Resort is 500,000 IRR and this complex is ready to give services all days of the week is ski season. The duration of using the Kakan ski resort for one day is from morning to afternoon or 8AM to 5PM. A parking lot is available to use at this complex with the entrance fee of 50,000 IRR.

•  Is there any rental shop to rent the ski gear?

A rental shop is available in Kakan ski resort and you can rent all kinds of ski gear, including skis, ski boots, ski bindings, and ski poles. The rate of ski equipment is between 300,000 IRR and 350,000 IRR.

•  Ski instructor:

The best ski instructor is available in the ski school to teach you how to ski. It costs you about 350,000 IRR per hour for customary coaches and 500,000 IRR per hour for the professional coaches.

•  Accommodations:

There aren’t any accommodation facilities to take a rest at the Kakan ski resort. But, you can go back to Yasuj and stay at one of the hotels in the city or stay at Pooladkaf hotel, where located about 40Km away from the Kakan ski resort.

•  What is the best time to go?

The ski season at the Kakan Ski Resort, runs from early December until late March. The ski resort opens to the public all the days of the week in the ski time.

•  Getting there?

If you want to get the Kakan Ski Resort from Yasuj, there is a highway (Yasuj-Eqlid) that pass through the Kakan and takes about 30 minutes. From Shiraz, it takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Shiraz-Yasuj highway.
