The Shirin and Farhad Local House is situated in the Kalantar Farm Village, where located in Yazd province. This local house is one of the interesting Zoroastrian monuments of Yazd.
The Kalantar Farm Village is located 45 kilometers in the north-west of Yazd in the neighborhood of Meybod and Ardakan cities. The village is known as the small India and ancient Iran’s miniature. The village’s primary center was formed within a castle in Safavid era which it’s abandoned now. The villagers were called it Kalantar Farm village due to a larger area of the farm than the surrounding farms. There are many valuable historic buildings in its texture which belongs to the Zoroastrian architect such as old cisterns, water mills, fire temples and remains of historic castles that represents the age and history of the village. The Kalantar Farm Village is one of the main centers of holding the Zoroastrian ceremonies such as Mehregan, Sadeh, Mehrizad and Panji in which many Zoroastrianism attends to ceremonies annually. The Village benefits from a great commercial, communicating, historical and tourism position and it is located in the vicinity of Meybod, Ardakan and Chak Chak.
As we mentioned, there are many Zoroastrian local houses in the Kalantar Farm Village. This house is known as a Zoroastrian house due to the special architect that based on the beliefs and traditions of these people. During the excursion to the village, visitors can experience staying at one of the cozy houses in a peaceful environment and enjoying the spectacular nature of the area and recognize the lifestyle of the people.
