From thousands of years ago, making ornaments and decorative jeweled utensils had been common in Iran and they have different methods of studding stone on silver, gold and any other suitable metal. Works such as chalices, bowls and gem studded ornaments that are related to the period of the Achaemenid, Parthian, and Sassanid which indicates that the artists of thousands of years ago had expertise on studding precious and semi-precious stones on these objects.
In our day the art of Morasa is mostly being used in making ornaments and it’s an attractive fashion for women and many interested men. Also decorative jewel studded utensils such as boxes, sugar bowls mirrors and candlesticks are highly beloved.
