Abyaneh Village

One of the highest residential spots in Iran, located in one of the villages in the Natanz city in Isfahan province, known as Abyaneh.

Abyaneh village is situated 40 kilometers northwest of Natanz, at the foot of Karkas Mountain. This village lies at an elevation of 2222 meters above sea level. The local people of Abyaneh in the olden days were called Viuna. Viuna in the local language of Abyaneh means Willows. They say that in the old days, there were a lot of willow trees in Abyaneh. The main feature of this city is the city's stepping construction. The roof of the lower house is the upper courtyard's house. Another feature of the city is the use of clay in the home View, which turns the city into the red. The villages of this village mostly made of mud and adobe.

Researchers and archaeologists believe that the village originated about 1500 years ago and is one of the historical places in Iran that has become famous worldwide. According to archaeologists, the old mansions of the Abyaneh village were designed and built during the rule of the Seljuk, Qajar, Sassanid, and Safavid dynasties.

  • There are many historical places in this village such as:

 

  • Monastery (Khangah):

This place made at the time of Shah Abbas Safavid. The monastery in the past has been the place of the rest of the Safavid king in the summer and the place of the Sufis and Dervishes.

  • Caravanserais

Abyaneh has two caravanserais in the west of the village and near the current bank, where transactions were made. The caravanserais built by a woman called Fatima Zaghul, which are now damaged by the flood.

  • Abyaneh village mills

Abyaneh village has three mills that can use in one of them. The people of Abyaneh say "Areh" to the mills in the local language, the three mills are: Areh Hereh, Areh Mion, Areh Daryoun. These mills located on the west side of the village on the Daryoun Riverway.

  • Abyaneh mosques

The village of Abyaneh has eleven mosques. There is a mosque of Abyaneh which known as the Jame mosque, and one of the 11 mosques are considered historic. This beautiful mosque made up of two Shabestan (It is part of a large mosque with a roof), which located in the middle part of the Miyan Deh city. One of the oldest pieces of this village is the altar made of wood and placed on the southern side of this Shabestan, during the rule of Seljuqi.

The village of Abyaneh has three castles. In the attacking period, people have built these three castles to protect themselves.

  • Fire temple

One of the oldest places in Abyaneh is the fire temple that considered as an example of Zoroastrian temples. It was built during the Sassanid era and is like the other ancient works built on a slope. In the past, in the center of the fire temple, the fire always burned by the coal is bright, and along with religious use, it is also used to guide the caravans.

 

Most people in this village use local clothing and use their original dialect. They are struggling to avoid losing their coverage and local dialect. The jobs' people of this area mainly ranched, agriculture and carpet weaving. The people of Abyaneh get their water's agricultural from seven Qanat.

The village of Abyaneh has a temperate climate. Its climate is a combination of a Mediterranean climate. In the four seasons of the year you can go to Abyaneh and enjoy it, but do not overlook the rainy blossom of early spring and autumn leaves in this village.

The best way to reach the Abyaneh is the entrance to the Persian Gulf that is to connect Qom to Isfahan. On this highway, after Kashan, it reached an exit named Abyaneh. You will be about 3 hours and 40 minutes if your origin is Tehran. When arriving at Abyaneh, for entering each car in this village, about 100,000 rials are taken.
