Mountain with amazing architecture

In the middle of Hamun Lake and 20 km from Zabol, there is a sacred and trapezoid mountain. Many ancient places discovered on this mountain.

Mount Khajeh took its name from the tomb of Khajeh Mehdi. He is one of the fans of Imam Ali (AS), and his grave is located above this mountain.

Many archaeologists excavated the monuments of this mountain and found that they belong to the Parthian and Sassanid eras.

In this mountain, there is one of the rare monuments from the Parthian dynasty, known as the brick Persepolis. Of course, some natural and human factors caused many parts of this monument.

On this ancient mountain, there are the fire temple, the shrine of Khajeh Mehdi, and the cemetery from different eras. There is the most important and largest part of the Khajeh mountain's monument is located on the southeast slope of the mountain. This monument has three defensive walls, the main gate, side corridors, a central courtyard, a fire temple, and so on. It is known as the Kohan Dezh. The second set at the highest point and above the Kohan Dezh is Kak Kahzad. This place can be the Shahneshin (A room that is higher than other rooms and has unique features compared to other places) of the citadel. The architectural decoration used in some parts of the building is similar to the Greek. There is evidence of an orderly stone staircase that links the Kohan Dezh with the Kak Kahzad. On this mountain, there is another monument called the Chehel Dokhtaran Palace.

When visiting this mountain, be sure to visit the magnificent tomb of Khajeh and the numerous graves above the mountain. There is a hole in the upper part of the grave. Locals believe that if you put your hand in the hole, something will come out of the hole with your intentions. Of course, what gets out is usually feathers or something like that. The other graves are so impressive that you may be busy for hours.

Also, in many religions, such as Christianity, Zoroastrian, and Islam, this mountain is considered sacred.

• What is the best time to go?

The Zabol's climate is warm and dry. The best time to travel to Zabol and visit its beautiful places is from the beginning of December to mid-April.

• Getting there?

You can access this mountain through the Khajeh Mount road. It takes about 20 minutes to get from Hamoon city to Khajeh Mountain. If you want to go to this ancient mountain from the Zabol city, from the Shahid Mir Hosseini Blvd, go to the Khajeh mount road, and you will be there after about 60 minutes.
