One of the most impressive attractions in the city of Susa is the Hafttappeh and Choghazanbil museum. The museum is located in an area called Haft Tapeh (Seven Hills). 

If you also love to watch historical monuments, to visit this historic site, you need to visit the city of Susa in Khuzestan. This place is very close to Chogha Zanbil. So, you can plan to visit these two valuable Iranian monuments at the same time. In fact, in the seven hills, you watch the ruins and remains of an ancient city dating back to 3500 years ago. There are a lot of hills in this area that the name of this place comes from these hills.

What initially attracted archaeologists to this place was the appearance of a brick vault in this place. This vault found during the construction of the road. Considering the earlier studies in this area, it used as a residential area in the short period. The discovery of this vault caused archaeologists to come to this place. The first exploration and excavation this area goes back to 1344. These operations lasted about 13 years to discover valuable works. Hafttappeh and Choghazanbil Museum, only objects and works that discovered from seven hills are displayed. The museum has facilities such as exhibition halls, laboratories, libraries, pottery restoration salons, restoration workshops, photographic laboratories and, etc.

  • Mud Writing: One of the most important works discovered on this ancient site is mud writing. There are several stone inscriptions written on the Cuneiform and Akkadian language.
  • Stamps: Other well-known works found on this site are stamps that have an attractive design. These stamps are flat or cylindrical. These stamps made of rocks and mud
