There is a wildlife refuge in Sari called Semeskandeh. This refuge is located 10 kilometers southeast of Sari city. This lush area is made up of numerous plant and animal species. Significant plant species include European hornbeam, Parrotia, alder, raspberry, and Gleditsia. Principal animal species include Persian fallow deer, Red deer, Roe deer, pheasant and Bird of prey, jackal, Jungle cat, squirrels, European pine marten, eagles, owls, pigeons, and wolves.

If you like to visit this spectacular attraction, it is best not to go there in the spring as the deers are getting pregnant and having a baby, and the refuge closes for a short time.

The sari has a temperate and humid climate due to its location between mountains, forests and the sea. The climate of this city is almost cold and dry in winter. We recommend making sure it is open before going to wildlife refuge areas. Because in some months these areas are closed to people due to mating and pregnancy of animals.
- Getting there?
It is just only a 20 minute away from Sari to this wildlife. You must pass Emma Reza Boulevard and Hula Street to reach this area. In the end, you must drive on the dirt road for one kilometer to reach this tourist attraction.
