Soleimaniyeh Palace, Forgotten palace

Suleimaneh Palace was ordered by Fath Ali Shah Qajar on the occasion of the birth of the 34th son of Suleiman Mirza and built by Mohammad Hussein Khan name al-Dawlah (Sadr Isfahani).

Sulaimaniyah Palace dates refer to the Qajar era. This palace located in the Karaj Agricultural College. Suleimaneh Palace was ordered by Fath Ali Shah Qajar on the occasion of the birth of the 34th son of Suleiman Mirza and was built by Mohammad Hussein Khan named al-Dawlah (Sadr Isfahani). The palace was built in 1227 AH and used as a bungalow.

 

Architecture

The structure is a rectangular palace building, which built on brick foundations that height of 2.5 feet from the floor. This palace is one of the first buildings in Iran built on the foundation.

There are two stairs on the northern front, and there are two other stairs on the south side, each with eight stairs and turquoise glazing, which provide access to the building and the main hall. On the eastern front of the palace, there was a tower on the 5th floor, which is unfortunately today is just the ruined peace of the ground floor.

The significance of the Soleimaniyeh Palace is due to two wall panels inside it with the pictures of Qajar kings. The first image is Mr. Mohammad Khan and the second image is Fath Ali Shah and his circle. On the front panel of Fath Ali Shah, Soleiman Mirza portrayed as a child near the Peacock Throne.

Unfortunately, this palace is closed on most days.

 

  • Getting there?

This palace is located at Kianpour Street, Mesbah Street, Karaj province.

You can get very cheap by metro from Tehran to Karaj and get there from Karaj metro station with Snap or Taxi. The price of Snap from the Metro to the palace is 45000 Rials.
