Kaboud-Val Waterfall

Kaboud-Val is the only mossy waterfall in Iran which situated in a valley covered with a mass of plants like a jungle.

Kaboud-Val Waterfall is located five kilometers southeast of Aliabad-e-Katul the environs of Golestan province. To reach the waterfall, you should walk through the jungle and enjoy the eye-catching nature. At the beginning of the journey, you will pass a bridge to enter the jungle. Moreover, at the end of a green route, you will see the Kaboud-Val Waterfall. Wooden bridges, green stairs, and the melody of water amaze you. Continue the route and see a waterfall through the mass of plants. The water of Kaboud-Val Waterfall is supplied from Mount Harun (1780 meters). The water of Mount Harun falls down over the green valley and creates a marvelous view.

• Facilities

  • All walking paths are paved, and you will see some toilets along the way to reach the waterfall.
  •  At the beginning of this route, there are parking spaces. You can park your car and continue the journey.
  •  There are some buffets where you can buy food or drink next to the parking.
  •  Some gazebo is embedded to have a rest.

• Visiting information

It is a half-hour walk to reach the Kaboud-Val Waterfall, so wear a good pair of walking shoes. Put an extra cloth in your backpack.

• Accommodation

  Due to the existence of wild animals, the Jungle is not suitable for camping at night. You can return to Aliabad-e-Katul and stay in a hotel. There are three hotels in Aliabad-e-Katul as follows:
   
  • Kaniyar Hotel: It is located on Imam-Reza Boulevard. It takes 18 minutes by car from Kaboud-Val Waterfall.
  • Parmis Hotel: It is located on Imam-Reza Boulevard. It takes 16 minutes by car from Kaboud-Val Waterfall.
  • Sarvenoosh: It is an ecotourist accommodation which is located in Qaribabad. It takes 58 minutes by car from Kaboud-Val Waterfall.

• What is the best time to go?

Late March to late September is the best time to visit Kaboud-Val Waterfall. During this period, you can enjoy the green nature.

• Getting there

Kaboud-Val Waterfall is located five kilometers southeast of Aliabad-e-Katul the environs of Golestan province. You can reach there via private car or a taxi. It is a half-hour walk to reach Kaboud-Val Waterfall.
