Masuleh, the most beautiful Iranian stepped village on the eastern slopes of the Talesh mountain. The unique nature of the surrounding areas of Masuleh, along with the compatible architecture, is one of the greatest attractions of Iran.
Masuleh is located in the southwest of Gilan province, near Rasht. This stepped village is located on the eastern side of the Talesh Mountains. This village, which has become a global reputation for its architecture, is located on the slope of mountain. Masuleh village is located at an altitude of 1050 meters above sea level.
Masuleh was of great importance because of its location in the confluence of mountainous passages between Azerbaijan, Zanjan, Gilan, and Taleh. This village is about 800 to 1000 years old. At the Fath-Ali Shah Qajar era, Masuleh was under the command of the army and made shots to Iranian artillery.
In 1979, the name of Masuleh village named as the first live historical city in the country and number 1090 in the National Iranian Book List.

In the Museum of Natural History, you will get acquainted with the wildlife of this area from Gilan. The Museum of Cultural Heritage has been set up in one of the most famous Masuleh historical houses called Darzi's House. This historic house has reigned from the Pahlavi era, but within it, there are works of the Qajar era. The Aoun Ibn Ali Museum is, in fact, part of the tomb of Imam Zadeh Aoun Ibn Ali. The building of this Imam Zadeh is one of the most valuable monuments of Masuleh dating back to the 2nd or 3rd century AH. In this museum, there are works from the Timurid and Safavid times.
The Masuleh bazaar is known as the heart of Masuleh and has a stepped form like a village. The bazaar is divided into four different levels. We suggest to you to visit this bazaar and enjoy the beauty of it.
